Unemployment benefits extended until Jan. 3
WASHINGTON -- The deadline for 100,000 jobless Texans to qualify for emergency unemployment benefits is extended to Jan 3.
The bill does not add more time for those who previously exhausted all state and federal benefits.
Texas Workforce Commission is now sending out payments and says they will have most of those eligible paid by the end of this week.
They encourage people to continue to request unemployment benefit payments on their scheduled day and check their account balances throughout the week.
