University High School student assaults girfriend and police officer

A Waco high school student was put in jail yesterday, after fighting with his girlfriend and spitting on a police officer.

According to Dale Caffey, the Waco ISD spokesperson, the incident took place at the intersection of 25th Street and Speight, around 1:30 on Monday afternoon.

Mr. Caffey says that during the students lunch hour, the the students were off campus when Lance Mendoza forced his girlfriend into a car.

Police say that after being placed in the patrol car, Mr. Mendoza kicked out the side glass, and then spit on the officer.

Mr. Mendoza is being charged on several accounts, and is being held in the McLennan County jail on a 33,000 dollar bond.
