COLLEGE STATION -- A College Station banked was robbed earlier today and now tonight police are still searching for the two people they say robbed the First Victoria Bank at gunpoint.
At around 10:35 this morning, two armed black men wearing masks entered the First Victoria Bank on Southwest Parkway demanding money.
"The tellers complied and they fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money," said Officer Rhonda Seaton.
This is the second armed bank robbery in College Station in less than two weeks.
Karen Campion, a First Victoria Bank customer, said she can't recall something like this ever happening before.
"It's a little shocking that we've had another robbery here since the last one last week so thankfully no one was hurt from what I understand."
And the bank's landscaper, Mark Gordy, who pulled into the parking lot to mow just after the robbery happened said, "When you are seeing it live rather than on TV, it's a lot more scarier when you are in the midst of it and stuff."
While police don't know if the two robberies are connected, Officer Seaton does say this is extremely unusual for the area.
"You know we haven't had a bank robbery in several years so the fact that they occurred a couple of weeks apart is not good but again, we will have to continue to investigate to see if they are possibly related or not at all."
Police and investigators spent the day interviewing witnesses and patrolling the area.
They say one of the robbers was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and the other a gray one. Both were wearing denim jeans.
If anyone was in the area at the time of the robbery or saw any suspicious activity call College Station police immediately.
Authorities say one suspect was wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt with denim jeans. They say the second suspect was wearing a gray hoodie sweatshirt with denim jeans. Both suspects were wearing masks at the time of the robbery.
