According to Texas Association of Realtors, the current number of homes sold in the third quarter, is nearly 30 percent lower compared to last years third quarter.

Home owners in Waco say that they have struggled selling their houses this year, and are discouraged by how they believe the economy has affected the realty business.

One realtor, Donna Terraze, says that she attributes this downfall to first time home buyers not receiving the approximately 8,000 dollar tax credit, that was provided last year at this time.

This is affecting not only Waco, but the statewide number of house sales has decreased nearly 20 percent as well.
