Waco hosting Cinco de Mayo fiesta

The City of Waco’s Brazos Nights concert series continues Friday night with a Cinco de Mayo fiesta presented by H-E-B and La Ley 104.1 FM.

The free concert begins at 7 p.m. and will take place at Indian Spring Park. The concert will feature Waco’s Los Reos del Norte (7 p.m.), Grupo Fantasma (8 p.m.) and La Maquinaria Nortena (9:30 p.m.).

Austin’s Grupo Fantasma is a 10-piece latin ensemble that recently won a Grammy Award for “Best Latin Rock, Alternative or Urban Album.”

Along with live music, Brazos Nights includes food and drink concessions, children’s arts and games and scenic views of the river from the Suspension Bridge. The City of Waco began the concert series began in 1989 and it is supported by community businesses. Indian Spring Park is located at 100 University Parks Dr. in downtown Waco.
