Waco investigators rule death questionable

Waco officers were called  to the 2300 block of North 50th Street Wednesday night at 8:10 p.m. on an accidental shooting.

Police found 35-year-old Michael Paul Contreras shot in his upper torso with a handgun. Contreras was at the house with several family members at the time of the shooting.  Mr. Contreras was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his wounds.

Investigators have ruled the death questionable. Information at this time indicates the gunshot was self-inflicted and accidental.

The body has been sent to Dallas for an autopsy.
