Woman's death under investigation by Killeen Police

Killeen Police are investigating the death of a female in the 1000 block of Parmer just before midnight on Monday, July 11, 2011.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of Parmer at 11:46pm on Monday, July 11, 2011, in reference to a possible shooting victim in a house at 20th and Parmer. The caller advised they heard gun shots in the area approximately one hour before and saw the animals from this residence outside. When the caller went to the residence they saw the front door open and a female on the ground inside.

The officers located a deceased female inside the residence; Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin pronounced her deceased at 12:25am and ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

The victim has not been identified at this time and detectives have no suspects or leads at this time. The detectives are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death.
