
Injured officer doing OK
Killeen, TX — Charles Raul Torres, 19, is being charged with Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle used as a deadly weapon for an incident that occured last Wednesday.
Torres and an unidentified 32-year-old man were seen driving in a white Hyundai Azera that had been reported stolen earlier in the day.
Torres and the man sped off when confornted by an officer. A high-speed chase then ensued through the streets of residential Killeen.
When officers tried to lay down a spike strip, Torres tried to avoid it and slammed into a police car.
A Killeen police who was in the car was taken to Scott & White Memorial Hospital with a head injury.
That officer has since been discharged and is doing well.
Torres' bond has been set at $110,000.
