Moody, TX — A fire that has claimed 130 acres of land northwest of Belton is now 100 percent contained.
The fire started at the Iron Bridge Park and spread to the Mother Neff state park on Sunday.
Several fire departments from Coryell County fought the wildfire with water and bulldozers.
The wind has been a problem in battling the fire but Tuesday's wind pattern changed directions and is actually helping in the effort to kill it off.
"The wind is now blowing into the fire itself. So instead of blowing ashes out of the area, the fire and smoke are suffocating any extra room to grow," said Mary Kay Hicks of the Texas Forest Service.
The Texas Forest Service has now given full authority of the wildfire over to the county.
Firefighters will remain there for the next day or two to battle occasional hotspots that may flair up.
