UPDATE

Attorneys for two defendants charged with raping a 16-year-old girl in Steubenville, Ohio, have withdrawn their motions to dismiss the charges. The move came a day after a judge ruled that three other juveniles must submit to a subpoena to testify in the case. The trial of the defendants, high school students Trent Mays and Ma'lik Richmond, began Wednesday.

The attorney who represents one of the two defendants charged with raping a 16-year-old girl in Steubenville, Ohio, filed a motion Monday to dismiss the case. Walter Madison said he expects a hearing on the motion to take place Wednesday. In his motion, Madison said the trial would violate the due process and equal protection clauses. His client, Ma'Lik Richmond, and Trent Mays are scheduled to stand trial beginning March 13. The-CNN-Wire/Atlanta/+1-404-827-WIRE(9473) ™ & © 2013 Cable News Network, Inc., a Time Warner Company.
