McLennan County — Thousands of McLennan County residents have taken advantage of early voting in this year's election.
Early voting ends Friday at 7, and as of 9 a.m. Friday morning, more than 37-thousand Central Texans had already exercised their right to vote in the county. That number is close to the more than 42-thousand that voted early in the 2008 election. Election officials expect to see at least 20-thousand come out to the polls on election day.
"It's wonderful. And, we really are happy about this participation. And, hopefully, you know, enough people have come and voted early that maybe our lines won't be so bad on election day," said Elections Adminstrator Kathy Van Wolfe.
If you haven't voted yet, you still have one more opportunity. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6.
