CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS

ELIGIBILITY

1. CENTRAL TEXAS Idol is open to persons in the KWKT FOX 44 / KYLE FOX 28 viewing area between the ages of 15 and 28 years old. (Must be 16 to 28 on July 17, 2010) Proof of age and residence must be provided in order to be qualified. Contestants must be a legal U.S. citizen or U.S. resident who is eligible to work in the United States.

2. Employees and immediate family members of employees of KWKT FOX 44 / KYLE FOX 28, Communications Corporation of America, White Knight Broadcasting, FOX Broadcasting Company, Fremantle Media North America, 19 Entertainment, Clear Channel Radio, Killeen Civic and Convention Center, Bryan ISD and their sponsors or vendors are not eligible to participate in the contest. This includes, but not limited to, spouses, parents, children, and/or relatives residing with such parties.

3. A written acknowledgement and release to be aired on radio and videotaped by KWKT FOX 44 / KYLE FOX 28, using your name and likeness before, during and after the contest must be signed in order to compete. A parental consent must also be signed in case the contestant is under eighteen (18) years of age.

4. If a person is a member of a professional art union and/or being represented by a talent agent, a talent agency, an attorney, or a law firm as a professional or amateur talent, that person is deemed ineligible to compete.

5. If a person has been convicted of or standing trial for a felony offense according to federal or state law, that person is deemed ineligible to compete.

6. Because this is a sanctioned competition by FOX Broadcasting Company and the producers of American Idol, all eligibility requirements for American Idol are also enforced in this contest. For those requirements, go to http://www.americanidol.com.

HOW TO ENTER

7. One Hundred (100) contestants will be chosen to participate at each of the Central Texas Idol Auditions. These 100 qualifying applicants will be chosen based on the order their applications are received. Applications are available at the KWKT FOX 44 Television Station, 8803 Woodway Drive in Waco and online at www.kwkt.com or kyle28.com. Contestants will be given 60 seconds to perform during the CENTRAL TEXAS Idol audition (Bryan-College Station Audition) on July 10, 2010, at Earl Rudder High School inside the Margaret Rudder Civic Auditorium. Doors and registration opens at 11:00 am with the auditions beginning approximately at 12:00 pm or at the Killeen Civic and Convention Center (Killeen Audition) on August 4, 2010, doors and registration open at 11:00 am with the auditions beginning approximately at 12:00 pm. The Central Texas Idol Finale will be held at the Killeen Mall on Saturday, August 7^th beginning at 12noon. Finalists should arrive at 11:30 to review documentation/rules.

8. At each audition, a maximum of 100 contestants will each be given the opportunity to sing for 60 seconds before a panel of judges. Acapella is preferred but an instrument may be played by the contestant.

9. Contestants may use an original song or original composition for their audition selection.

10. A total of 30 contestants will be chosen for the final competition from each audition, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, August 7th, 2010 at a location and time to be announced.

11. The Central Texas Idol Winner will be judged by a panel of judges to determine winner. The Central Texas Idol winner will receive a guaranteed audition in front of American Idol producer. Winner will also receive $500 gift card.

MISCELLANEOUS

12. Any contestant who performs music that contains graphic language and/or depicts gratuitous sexual overtures, violence, drugs and/or alcohol during any portion of this contest will be automatically disqualified.

13. If the winner of Central Texas Idol is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must accompany the winner to the Austin, Texas American Idol auditions. The parent/guardian will automatically be chosen as winner’s guest as part of the prize package.

14. In the event any contestant does not meet the necessary requirements, all prizes that have been awarded will be forfeited.

15. If KWKT FOX 44 / KYLE FOX 28 management or its venue partners, learns of a contestant’s misrepresentation during the contest, the contestant will be automatically disqualified.

16. If KWKT FOX 44 / KYLE FOX 28 management or its venue partners, learns of a contestant’s misrepresentation after a prize has been awarded or announced, the winner or recipient must return all prizes and/or monetary awards within ten (10) days of notification, and be subject to legal action.

17. Payment of any and all expenses related to any prize including, but not limited to taxes, is the sole responsibility of the winner. This also includes transportation to and from Bryan-College Station, Killeen or Waco, Texas, gas money, food and beverages, and any night’s stay in any of those audition cities.

18. No substitution or transfer of prizes will be permitted.

19. Do not wear any clothing items revealing any tattoos, bearing designer, sports or any other logos or brand names, or bearing the name or likeness of a celebrity, living or dead. If you do wear such clothing, you may be required to remove it or turn it inside out or put on additional clothing.

20. KWKT FOX 44 / KYLE FOX 28 reserves the right to disqualify any person who does not comply with any of the official rules stated herein.

21. The management of KWKT FOX 44 / KYLE FOX 28 and the laws of the state of Texas shall determine any and all rule disputes.
