WACO - County jailers are looking to cut down on illegal immigrants.

The Waco Tribune reports the McClennan County Jail will now check the immigration status of people when they are booked into the jail.

Fingerprints of those jailed will be checked against the FBI's database and an immigration database run by Homeland Security.
