WACO — A handful of local colleges and city goverments will be teaming up to invest $30 million into the old General Tire plant to develop a 300,000-square-foot technology research center next year.

Baylor and Texas State Technical College will be leading the way with contributions of $10 million each.

The soon to be refurbished center is planned to be the foundation of a technology research park.
