Bellmead, TX — Hundreds of patients flooded Acre Wood Dental in Bellmead, as early as 5 a.m. Friday morning, all to receive free dental services.
In it's second "Dentistry From the Heart Event" the dental office provided more than 25-thousand dollars worth of free services to the Central Texas community. Patients were able to choose between getting a free tooth extraction, filling, or cleaning. And, extractions, by far, were the most popular procedures Friday.
"It's causing them pain, and you know, so they just want that pain taken care of. And so, most of them want that tooth extracted," said Daniel Johnson, Marketing Director of Acre Wood Dental.
Single mom, Barbara Dugger, said she came in because she's had a hurting tooth for years that has needed to be looked at. She says with no insurance, it was important to take advantage of the free dental services.
"I've even known a person that lost a leg because they let a tooth go too long. It can really affect your overall health," said Dugger.
Acre Wood Dental hopes to keep expanding every year and hope to eventually offer the event once every quarter. They even hope to get other dental practices involved.
