Killeen , tx — One of three victims shot at a convenience store on Janury 2 has died. Austin James Sampson, 25, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by Scott & White Medical authorities.
The shooting occurred in the evening, at 5:27 p.m. on January 2 in the 1700 block of Old FM 440.
Officers received a 911 call in reference to shots fired today at 5:27pm, in the parking lot of the Star Mart Convenience Store, located at 1704 Old FM 440. Upon the officer’s arrival, they located three males with gunshot wounds. Two of the males were immediately transported by ambulance to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center and the third male was airlifted to Scott and White Memorial Hospital; all in critical condition. Witnesses say that a black male with dreads got out of a white Lincoln Towncar, approached the maroon SUV and shot the three occupants. The suspect then allegedly fled south on Old FM 440.
