WOODWAY, TX — Authorities have released the name of the man critically injured in a hit-and-run accident on Friday night.
Victor Padilla, 30, was riding his 2009 Harley Davidson, when he was struck by another driver who allegedly never stopped to render aid.
According to the police report, officers responded to a traffic crash at Highway 84 and Speegleville Road at 11 p.m. Friday night. Officers determined a motorcycle was traveling north on Old Lorena Road, approaching U.S. Highway 84.
A pick-up truck, pulling a cattle trailer, was traveling west on Highway 84, and witnesses reported the truck ran the red light, causing the motorcycle to strike the truck. The crash critically injured the 30-year-old lone male rider on the bike.
Following the accident, the truck reportedly failed to stop and render aid, therefore leaving the scene. With the assistance of a Woodway officer, who was first on scene and a broadcasted description of the truck, Gatesville Police Department officers were able to locate the truck in their city. Evidence of the crash was recovered from the truck and trailer.
The Padilla was transported to Hillcrest Hospital by ETMC and was listed in critical condition. No arrest has been made, pending outcome of the investigation. The identity of the driver of truck has not yet been released.
