1 hospitalized following Waco motorcycle crash

The Waco Police Department has identified the driver as 79-year-old Clyde Kees of Waco.

Kees was taken to a local hospital and is in critical condition.

ORIGINAL REPORT: One person was hospitalized this morning after a motorcycle collided with another vehicle in Waco.

It happened at about 7:45 a.m. on the 7600 block of China Spring Highway. Officials believe a minivan in the northbound lanes was waiting to turn left onto Prickly Pear, when a motorcycle crashed into the back end. The driver, who was not wearing a helmet,  was thrown from his bike and landed in the roadway. He was not wearing a helmet and had to be taken immediately to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.

Waco emergency crews closed the highway to traffic for about 30 minutes to clean up the crash site.

The identity of the driver has not yet been released.
