2 Bryan pawn shops busted for stolen property

BRYAN -- Two Bryan pawn shops were forced to close their doors after police served search warrants at their business, looking for stolen property.

The search warrants were served simultaneously at  both "Top Dollar Pawn" stores located off Texas and Carson and Texas and Enfield at around 3:00 Tuesday afternoon.

Police tell us the search warrants were issued after police noticed a re-occurring pattern at the businesses when it came to receiving stolen items.

"If stolen property is showing up here on a regular basis it surely alludes to the fact that they may be aware that they're purchasing stolen items so that's something that we're trying to break," said Officer Jon Agnew. "We're trying to break the cycle of people stealing the items and then people buying that item."

Officer Agnew tells us investigators are trying to process all the items recovered to see if they can be returned to the rightful owner.

No arrests have been made at this time.
