3 people critically injured in Killeen shooting

Three people were critically injured Thursday evening in a shooting outside of a Killeen convenience store.

At 5:27 p.m., officials received a 911 call on shots fired in the 1700 block of Old FM 44. When officers arrived, they learned three men had been shot in their SUV by a black male with dreads outside the Star Mart Convenience Store.

The three victims were immediately taken to nearby hospitals-- two by ambulance and one by helicopter.

Witnesses say the gunman got back into his white Lincoln Towncar and headed south on Old FM 440.

The case remains under investigation.
