A woman convicted of intoxication assault had her writ of habeas corpus denied by the Texas court of criminal appeals.

Alex Ford was sentenced to 10 years in prison after a 2010 incident when she drove her Maserati into an officer's patrol vehicle, critically injuring the officer and bringing her career in law enforcement to an end.

Ford was out of jail on bond when she made her first appeal, but she violated the terms of her agreement by drinking and staying out past a curfew and the bond was revoked.

In her most recent claim, Ford claimed she deserved a new trial because of poor performance of her counsel during her original trial.
