Tuesday, May 15, 2012 - 6:36pm

The Killeen Police Department is asking if you know the identity of the man with the tie who tried to cash a forged check at the Walmart in Killeen.

Officers responded to the Killeen Walmart located at 1400 Lowes Blvd. on Friday, March 23, 2012, at 5:41pm. They were told a white male wearing a black shirt, gray pants and a gray, black and white tie, had tried to cash a forged check; the identification he used also appeared to be fictitious. The cashier verified that the check was fraudulent and when she returned the male had left the store without the check and identification.

Detectives are asking anyone who knows the identity of this man to contact Crime Stoppers at 526-TIPS (8477) or go online at www.killeencrimestoppers.com or text KILLEEN along with the tip to 274637 (CRIMES). All information is confidential and you will remain anonymous. If your tip leads to the arrest of the suspect you could be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 in cash.
