A suspect has now been identified in connection to a Wednesday bank robbery that resulted in a high speed chase through Central Texas.

Michael Matthews is charged with robbery and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Matthews is also facing additional charges for two separate bank robberies and evading arrest, but the cases are not in McLennan County.

Authorities say Matthews robbed Wells Fargo Bank, located in the 1400 block of Corsicana Highway in Hillsboro, just after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Matthews then reportedly took off in a Suburban on a high speed chase down I-35 southbound. Officers were able to pull him over around West and take him into custody.

Authorities continue to investigate this case.
