BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Tx (KWKT) — The cities of Bryan and College Station have proclaimed July 26th Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History Day.
Officials from both cities will present the proclamation during the 3rd annual “Wish Upon a Butterfly” release event.
The museum partners with a butterfly farm that has raised over 400 butterflies for this event and will ship them over night to the museum to be ready for release.
“Each butterfly is individually wrapped in a tri-fold piece of paper so that folks that purchase a butterfly get their own butterfly, and you just carefully open it and the butterfly is just right there in your hand and it flies away.
The butterflies being released are native to the area and will add to the population already in the community.
The event will also have crafts and live music. It will start at 9am, and the butterflies will be released at 10am.
