BRYAN, TX — The Bryan Fire Department will soon get a new addition to its fleet.
During Bryan's city council meeting members unanimously approved the fire department's request to add a $765,000 fire engine into the city budget.
Bryan Fire Chief Randy McGregor says the new truck is a necessary replacement, which will help firefighters keep us safe.
"We always want to make sure we have safe and reliable equipment to respond to emergencies and such and typically that 10 year mark is when we really try to look and determine if at that point it's time to replace it," said McGregor.
The new engine will be custom-made for the department and it'll take about a year to manufacture.
