A Bryan man died Tuesday morning after he was hit by a tow truck at the intersection of Sandy Point Road and Harvey Mitchell Parkway.

At 9:47 a.m., Bobby Joe Green, 61, of Bryan, was driving a Brazos County Road and Bridge truck in the 5000 block of Sandy Point Road when he failed to yield the right of way and entered an intersection, according to the Bryan Police Department. At that same moment, an Aggieland Wrecker was headed southbound on Harvey Mitchell Parkway and collided with Green's vehicle.

The driver of the wrecker was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Green was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The intersection was closed for several hours while authorities reconstructed the accident.
