Bryan — The state wide Click it or Ticket campaign recently ended and was considered a success this year in the City of Bryan.
Officers on the streets focused their traffic enforcement on improper seat belt use for adults and children. The Bryan Police Department utilized a Special Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grant though the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to enhance our Click it or Ticket efforts.
This grant was able to fund extra officers and man hours for traffic enforcement during this two week campaign. The goal of the campaign is to educate the public and enforce seat belt compliance among drivers and passengers. Here are the results from this year’s efforts:
· Seat Belt citations issued: 188
· Child Restraint citations issued: 14
· Other traffic violations issued: 64
· Arrest made: 4
