Bryan PD officer announces retirement

Officer Mike Watson of the Bryan Police Department has announced his retirement after 15 years.

He served as a patrol officer for two years before transferring to the Gang Unit in 2000. Officer Watson served as the Bryan Police Department’s Gang Intelligence Officer for four years and then transferred back to patrol. In 2011 Officer Watson transferred to the Neighborhood Enforcement Team and was assigned to the southwest sector of Bryan.

During his career, Mike received recognition for his exceptional work and service to the community:

  • 1998 Firearms Excellence Award from the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX)
  • 2002 Police Commendation for the E-Z Mart Robbery
  • 2007 Received Advanced Peace Officer Certificate
  • 2013 Keeper of the Kingdom Award from Keep Brazos Beautiful


Officer Watson is a respected member of this department and leader and problem solver for our community. We wish Officer Watson the best in his future endeavors and he will be missed by the department and community.
