Bryan Police Department to host Blue Angel

Wednesday, November 28, 2012 - 12:19pm

The Bryan Police Officers Association is replacing its annual Blue Christmas with a Blue Angel Tree. Blue Angel is organized by the Bryan Police Officers Association and is a holiday project designed to help the less fortunate families in our city during the holiday season.

Christmas is a time to gather with friends and family and give thanks for the gifts and good fortunes we have received. Let's take the time to pay it forward and contribute to someone else's good fortune by supporting the Blue Angel Project.

The Blue Angel Tree will kick off its event at Holiday Magic on November 29th at Sue Haswell Park from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. On the tree will be blue angels representing children and elderly of the Brazos Valley. We need your help in providing for the Brazos Valley families. We ask citizens to adopt a Blue Angel from the tree and buy a Christmas gift for that child or elderly person. We will also be accepting monetary donations to purchase gifts for the families on the tree.

All gifts are to be turned into the Bryan Police Department by December 13th. The Bryan Police Officer's Association will then present these gifts to the families in need on December 15th at the Bryan Police Department. The presentation is also open to those who donated gifts to Blue Angel.

The Blue Angel Tree will be at the following Bryan locations for your convenience:

" November 29th - Sue Haswell Park Pavilion 5:30pm to 8:30pm

" December 1st - Bryan Target from 9am - 3pm.

" December 8th - Bryan Walmart from 9am - 3pm

" The Bryan Police Lobby - all other days

It is through the partnership with the public that the Bryan Police Department can make a difference in our community so please join us at the listed locations and help support a worthy cause. Check our webpage at click on Volunteer on the right hand side of the page and open Blue Angel Tree for any additional locations and updates.

If you would like to make a monetary donation (made payable to "BPOA") or adopt a child or elderly for Blue Angel please call the Bryan Police Department at 979-209-5350.
