BRYAN -- A 19-year-old Bryan man who was critically injured in a late night shooting Sunday was taken off life support earlier today as police continue to investigate the shooting he was involved in.

Lauren Holman spoke with neighbors who live next door who tell us they're in disbelief about what happened.

Francine Spinks, who moved into her April Court Townhomes, off Carter Creek Parkway in September has been trying to get to know her neighbors ever since she moved in.

Last night she met 19-year-old Trevor Williams for the very first time.

"He really made us laugh," said Spinks. "He was like you know, 'Lets all hang out and have a good time' but he told us he had to go do some computer work and he'd see us tomorrow."

Francine had no idea that would be the last time she'd ever see him alive.

Williams was shot and left for dead inside his home at around 11:30 Sunday night.

"Officers found a white male laying on the floor and he appeared to have a gunshot wound to the head," said Officer Kelley McKethan.

Williams was rushed to St. Joseph's in Bryan in critical condition but tragically he was taken off life support earlier today and pronounced dead.

"I'm sorry, I have kids his age and this just sickens me," said Francine.

Apartment number 10 remains a crime scene while police continue to investigate the shooting as a homicide, leaving those that live closest to Williams asking why?

"I mean we love the area, we've never had any problems before so it's kind of awkward and I think it's suspicious maybe but I don't know," said neighbor Crystal Marshall.

"This guy did not deserve this," said Francine. "He had hopes and dreams. Is family did not deserve this."

Police aren't releasing much information about the investigation and no suspect description has been given at this time.

If you live in the area and saw or heard anything suspicious last night your asked to call Crime Stoppers or the Bryan PD immediately.
