Capital murder trial put on hold

Thursday, December 6, 2012 - 5:27pm

The capital murder trial of John Falk Jr., who is accused of playing a role in the 2007 death of a Texas correction officer during a prison escape, is now on hold.

Just before closing arguments were scheduled to be made the state filed a stay of proceedings, meaning jurors won't deliberate on anything until the motion is reviewed by the Texas 10th Court of Appeals.

In the file the state is contesting the charge be read to the jury -- which is scheduled to be heard on Monday.
