Capital murder trial underway in Marlin for May 2012 shooting
Marlin, TX — The capital murder trial of a Houston-area man accused of shooting and killing an Otto man is taking place this week in Marlin.
Wesley Scott Murphy, 42, was indicted on the capital murder charge last August. Opening arguments and testimony began in a Falls County courtroom on Wednesday.
According to police, the victim, Craig Holland, 50, was found dead in his home, around 3:30 a.m. May 24, 2012. Texas Rangers and the Department of Public Safety Crime Lab investigated Holland's death and determined it was a homicide.
