WACO -- Twelve hundred Central Texas elementary students visited Education Service Center Region 12 Friday to start answering the question "what do I want to be when I grow up?"

From firefighters, to farmers to forensic scientists kids got the opportunity to learn about professionals who use specialized vehicles, and how they could one day get a job that uses them as part of "Careers on Wheels" day.

"It's really neat for them to come out and see these vehicles in action. Whether it's you know, the helicopter, the fire truck back here too so but it's neat for them to see that people actually use these things for everyday life and to help other people in our community too," Jeremy Gilbert, La Vega Kindergarten teacher said.

Region 12 employees also tell us they want kids to start thinking about college, while also having fun.
