A federal trial date has been set for a Central Texas sheriff who is being sued by nine of his former and current deputies.

McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara is being sued on allegations that McNamara fired or demoted the nine deputies for supporting his 2012 election opponent, Randy Plemmons. Attempts to settle the case outside of the courtroom were unsuccessful.

The trial will begin on February 18 in Austin.
