A new entertainment venue is set to open this weekend in Temple.

Cinemark Theaters is opening their newest theater off of South General Bruce Drive. In addition to providing a new attraction to the Temple community, the theater will also employ about 50 people. This weekend only, if you bring a canned good, which will be donated to local food pantries for the holidays, you can receive free popcorn and a drink.

"It's probably been awhile since there's been a new entertainment choice in the market. And, I think that this theater will be certainly an upgrade or an update to, you know, what maybe people have been going to in the past. And, Temple certainly deserves to have that type of presentation in their movie-going," said Cinemark Marketing Director Bryan Jeffries.

The theater will give a free showing of "It's a Wonderful Life" this Saturday at 10 a.m. Santa Claus will also stop by from noon until 4 p.m. on Saturday.
