The City of Clifton has been notified by its consulting engineer and the lab which regularly tests the water quality. They have determined that the water is safe to consume.
The water has a smell, color and some minor sediment, but is without any bacteriological effect and it is safe to drink.
The city is rescinding its order to cease consumption of the water city limits. Bottled water will no longber be provided as of this time.
The City Public Works Department will continue to work to reduce color, smell and the minor sediment. This may take several weeks. City officials ask the public to be patient as they work to correct the continuing aesthetic issues.
Finally, if you are not registered for the Reverse 911 notification system, please visit the City website at www.cityofclifton.org and register your phone number ASAP.
