An A&M Consolidated student is in critical condition tonight after being hit by a car Monday.

Police say the accident happened late Monday afternoon at the intersection of Harvey Mitchell Parkway and Welsh Avenue when 15-year-old Joshua Odle was trying to cross the street to get back to A&M Consolidated.

Odle was in the process of walking across Harvey Mitchell when a Jeep Wrangler driven by 35-year-old Taylor Herzog hit him.

Police say Odle was in the crosswalk but the vehicle had the right-away.

"You want to pay attention to all traffic in both directions," said Patricia Logan with College Station Police Department. "Even if you think it's clear, just always make sure to pay attention to your surroundings."

Odle was taken to a nearby hospital and then flown to an Austin hospital for his injuries. He's listed in critical condition.

Charges have not been filed against the driver.
