Bryan law enforcement officials have released more details in the fatal wreck on Sandy Point Road Saturday.

Investigators determined a 21-year-old man was operating the pedals of the vehicle involved while a 22-year-old sat in his lap and controlled the steering at the time of the crash. The vehicle was headed westbound on Sandy Point Road when it left the roadway to the right and rolled when the driver overcorrected. The vehicle came to a rest against a pipe fence.

A third passenger, German Rodarte, 23, of Bryan was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. The two people riding in the driver's seat were taken to a nearby hospital where they were treated and released.

Authorities are working to determine if alcohol played a factor in the crash.
