COLLEGE STATION -- A College Station family is searching for answers tonight after their brother went missing on Sunday.
Now police have launched an intensive search to find the missing man because they believe he may be in danger.
Two days ago, 35-year-old Manuel Melendez Mariaca, disappeared without a trace.
"Late Monday night the missing person's family came to the police department to file a report because they were concerned because he hadn't been since in over 24 hours," said Officer Rhonda Seaton.
We spoke with Manuel's family today, who declined to go on camera but told us they're worried something bad may have happened because he rarely left their apartment.
"Whatever information that the family provided the officers and the detectives was enough to lead the officers and detectives to think that he may be in danger and that they are concerned," said Seaton.
Police aren't releasing much information but they tell KYLE they have good reason to believe Mariaca may be located somewhere in the Bee Creek Park area.
They've even brought in a K-9 unit to search through the woods and a dive team search the ponds and swamp areas.
Officer Seaton said, "We do have enough information to believe that we should be concerned about his safety."
Mariaca was last seen Sunday near the 1600 block of Southwest Parkway and Anderson Street.
If you have any information on where he may be call police immediately.
