CSPD investigating Friday stabbing

A College Station man is stabbed and now police are looking for the person responsible.

We're told on Friday December 13, 2013 at approximately 3:00 in the morning officer with the College Station Police Department were dispatched to the 1600 blk of Welsh for a reported stabbing.

The reporting person advised that a male at this location had been stabbed by an unknown person. Upon arrival, officers found a male with multiple stab wounds and he was transported to a local hospital where he is undergoing treatment for his injuries.

Through initial investigation it was learned that several males had been involved in what started as a verbal confrontation that soon escalated into a physical confrontation in which one male suffered several wounds. Soon after this, at least two males fled the scene on foot.

The Criminal Investigations Division of the College Station Police Department responded to continue this investigation and they were able to locate the males that had fled on foot. The investigation as to any potential criminal charges is on-going at this time as they continue to work with local prosecutors as the case proceeds.
