DA won't seek death penalty against Central Texas pastor accused of murder

Coryell County Jail
Monday, July 1, 2013 - 1:26pm

The Coryell County District Attorney's office has announced they will not seek the death penalty against a former Gatesville pastor accused of killing his wife.

David Keith Allen, 51, remains in jail after he was arrested on capital murder charges in March 2011.

Authorities say he is responsible for a trailer home fire that led to the death of his then wife, Paula Allen, 54.

Allen's current wife, Megan Allen, was arrested last Wednesday on perjury charges handed down by a grand jury for testimony given to the grand jury about her relationship with Allen prior to his former wife's death.
