Citizens of Texas demand a vote on Pro-Gun Legislation
Austin, TX (KWKT) — Texan Gun Rights, Gun Rights Across America, and Dallas-Fort Worth Day of Resistance along with Texas Voters, Law-Abiding Gun Owners, Parents and Concerned Citizens will march together on Monday, May 13, at noon to "DEMAND A VOTE" on current Texas legislation that would protect their Second Amendment rights.
Several bills have been sitting in committee since being heard without being voted on. Some are being stymied by a few legislators that do not want to see these bills pass.
President Barack Obama stated the families of the Newtown shooting deserved a vote on anti-gun legislation.
The same applies to law-abiding gun owners of Texas, who also deserve a vote to protect their rights.
Citizens of Texas will gather in a peaceful, open-carry march to protect their rights and march around the grounds of the Capitol, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
“If we sit idly by and do nothing, we will watch our rights systematically be taken away. We owe it to ourselves, our children and all Texans, to stand up and demand our elected officials protect our rights by putting these pieces of important legislation to a full vote. My challenge to you, is to go, stand up, speak out and demand your elected officials protect the Constitutional rights that they swore an oath to," said Texan Gun Rights Founder, Michelle Prescott.
“The time has come to stop infringing on our Second Amendment rights. Now it’s our turn. The people of Texas deserve a vote now,” said President and Founder of Gun Rights Across America, Eric Reed
