Local law enforcement agencies are participating in the DEA's Drug Take Back Program starting today and continuing throughout the weekend.

You can look online or contact your local police department to find your nearest drop off location. Officers say it's important for you to properly dispose of prescriptions because if you flush them or they end up in the water system, they could be harmful. All types of medications are accepted.

"We'll pretty much take everything. We don't question what people are bringing. We just ask if it's in a prescription bottle, if they don't feel comfortable leaving their names, then they're welcome to scratch their name off or peel the labels off," said Waco Police Department Spokesman Sergeant W.P. Swanton.

Waco PD and Killeen PD have announced they'll collect 24 hours a day through Monday. Temple PD will collect from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Temple Police Department and in the parking lot of Scott and White Center for Diagnostic Medicine.
