Waco — An early morning house fire displaced a family of seven in Waco.
Firefighters responded to a report of the fire at a home located in the 2000 block of Herring Avenue around 3:50 a.m., on Friday morning.
Two adults and five children were inside the home when the fire started. The family was able to escape the flames safely without any injuries.
After firefighters arrived, they were able to put out the fire within ten minutes.
Assistant Fire Chief Don Yeager said, the fire may have started as a result of an overloaded extension cord powering an A.C unit.
The family is currently being cared for by the American Red Cross.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation
