BRYAN, Tx (KYLE) — Northwood Drive and North Parker in Bryan may seem like quiet streets now but it was a different story earlier this week when two different houses were raided at the same time by authorities.
"The Bryan Police Department, College Station Police Department, Brazos County Precinct 2, DPS and the FBI helped assist our drug enforcement team in a dual narcotics search warrant," said Bryan Police Officer, Kelley McKethan.
It was a drug bust months in the making and it landed 40-year-old Roy Arevalo Sr. and his 17-year-old son, Roy Arevalo Jr,. behind bars.
"They were able to recover a large amount of narcotics which had a street value of about $37,000," said Officer McKethan. "That included methamphetamine, powder cocaine, crack cocaine and marijuana."
A stolen gun out of Conroe was also recovered and they seized three highly customized cars that are believed to have been bought with drug money.
A significant bust for local authorities.
"Not only are we getting drugs off the street but we're also getting firearms off the streets which in an essence makes our community safer," McKethan said.
We're told the investigation is ongoing and more arrests and additional charges could be made in the near future.
