HEARNE -- A community is in shock after a former Hearne city council member was found dead inside his home.

Authorities aren't releasing much information right now but what we do know is that police received a call from a concerned neighbor Monday morning and when officers arrived to check it out, they found Charles Workman dead inside his home off El Paso Street.

Police say there is enough evidence to believe a crime was committed so foul play has not been ruled out.

The Texas Rangers have been called in to help investigate and Workman's body has been sent to Dallas for an autopsy.
