Milam County sheriff’s deputies were contacted about a suspicious person, off of County Road 446, late Monday night. This was followed by a report of persons having burglarized a building, trying to get away with two four-wheelers. The thieves abandoned the four-wheelers along the roadway and disappeared.

Sheriff Greene, along with Chief Deputy Chris White and Lt. Mike Clore, investigated the incident further the following day and discovered that the building had been burglarized multiple times by the same persons. Chief Deputy White learned that the suspects had gone by the building earlier in the day and taken tools and equipment. They later returned after dark and attempted to steal a Polaris four-wheeler and a John Deere Gator.

The majority of the stolen items were recovered from local metal-recycling businesses and returned to the victim. The suspects were identified as Marvin Cantwell Jr., Alyssa Brown, Crispin Gonzales Jr. and Cassandra Sanchez of Thorndale. Warrants were issued for the arrest of the four charging them with burglary of a building. Cantwell, Brown, and Sanchez were taken into custody and held at the Milam County Jail where they were arraigned and bonds set at 7,500 dollars each. Gonzales was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant out of Williamson County at the time of his interview. The burglary charge was added, and he was arraigned in Williamson County with a bond set at 10,000 dollars.
