WACO -- Starting July 9th adults bringing children to free lunch sites can also enjoy a free meal.
It's all a part of the McLennan County Hunger Coalition program designed to get more children to the free meal sites.
As a reward, parents get to eat lunch free too.
The program is designed to help children up to 18 years old on free or reduced lunches at school to get a hot meal during the summer.
The locations were chosen on need numbers from last year.
For parents like Bill Smith who has come the past two years, the meal also provides time together.
"It makes it more of a family event if the parents are sitting down and able to eat with the kids," Smith said.
The four locations providing free meals for adults on Tuesdays and Thursdays are:
Dewey Recreation Center
Provident Heights Elementary
Korean United Methodist Church
La Vega Community Church
All other locations lunch can be purchased for three dollars and breakfast for two.
