Gas prices have risen as we head into the end of the year holiday travel.

In Waco, the average price of gas is $3.03 per gallon, which is still below the nationwide average of $3.24 per gallon. Gas prices have climbed in the past few days due to the increase in travel as more people hit the roads for the holidays.

AAA projects 7.9 million Texans will hit the road for the end of the year holidays. This is the 5th consecutive increase in travelers for this holiday period.
