Grants to help military families

The Texas Veterans Commission fund for veterans assistance is offering extra help to veterans and their families.

The Waco Tribune reports the group has about a million dollars in grants that they will disburse to groups who provide services to veterans and their families.

Local veterans groups believe these funds will provide the extra help returning soldiers need.

The commission will be accepting applications. The deadline is set for January 8 and will be distributed in March.
